Experienced chef Craig Wilsden (pictured left) loves to cook using fresh, local ingredients – and he'll be continuing to produce stunning food for our customers including for our every popular Pie Nights and Fish Nights which are packed out (book early to avoid disappointment!).
Meet our sous chef, Rachel
Rachel Bentley (pictured below) began working at The Star as a kitchen assistant and she is now second in command in the kitchen. She joined us after studying for her degree in international politics and milary history at Aberystwyth University.

Rachel is also our ‘pudding queen’ – when we first put her in charge of desserts we realised just how many of her bread and butter puddings were flying out of the door.
A self-confessed baking addict – her bookshelves groan with cake baking books, rather than general recipe books – you'll still find Rachel turning her passion for puds into treats for our customers at the Star (just don’t blame her if your diet goes awry while you’re here).
