Do you know your Leo from your Lyra? The Star Inn in Talybont-on-Usk is the place to get stargazing to find out!
Our pub is in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park which was awarded the status of an International Dark Sky Reserve in February 2013. Did you know it's one of only five such places in the world to have been awarded this special status?
The quality of the dark skies here is amazing!
You can see the Milky Way with the naked eye on clear nights - sadly something you can no longer see in much of the rest of Britain due to light pollution.
You'll be amazed by what you can see in the dark and you don't even have go far...
- We have a telescope for the use of B&B guests and books on stargazing so you can find out what you're looking at!
- And we run regular stargazing evenings open to the public where we invite experts to come and talk about far-flung galaxies and even bring their meteorites along
PS Our landlady, Anna, is an official Brecon Beacons National Park Dark Skies Ambassador.
If she doesn't know the answer to your stargazing question she'll certainly be able to point you in the right direction!
